Designed and crafted by Zimbabwean-born, New Zealand sculptor Jack Stobart along with his team, each Tūī is shaped from Springstone - its rich, near-black tones flecked with deep olive and bronze, capturing the Tūī’s own extraordinary iridescent plumage. The characteristic white throat pōi is carved from dolomite, and the delicate chest markings are inset resin.
The curved beak and sleek tail are crafted from dark timber, and the resin eye adds a vivid flash of red. Bold, beautiful and deeply woven into New Zealand culture and forest life.
